Let's Go On A "Mick-Nick"

Can anybody believe that May is already coming close to an end?!
Summer is practically here....it's crazy how fast this year has flown by already.

Miles finished PDO last week...so him and I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of one on one time together the last few days.  It's been lovely as I truly enjoy this lil' kid so much!  Don't get me wrong, I adore Owen too buuut....sometimes it's easier with just one kiddo;)  Since the weather has been absolutely GORGEOUS we've been trying to spend as much time as possible outside before the yucky, humid weather begins.  I love sunshine...but bleck to humidity!

Anyways, we spent our Monday at Sculpture Park here in KC.  It's right outside the Nelson Art Museum and probably one of the most beautiful places I have seen in KC so far.  I know I always rant and rave about Loose Park...but as far as landscaping and such go, I'm a pretty big fan of this place and am hoping to spend some more time here in the future (whether it's with or without the boys).  If you have never been, you should check it out.  And, on rainy days..check out the art museum too!  It's HUGE and even though I have wandered through it twice already, I know I haven't seen everything it has to offer.  It's a great way to soak up some knowledge and spend the day in a relaxing environment:)

Back to my main post though....
Sculpture Park is pretty and going on picnics (or 'mick-nicks' as Milo calls them...) are one of my all time favorite things to do with the boys!  I just love being outside on a beautiful day:)

Here's a few pictures...enjoy!

I love that kid to pieces.  We just have the best time together, always!  I am so lucky to have him in my life as he makes me smile every day:)

Happy Birthday, Daddy Davis!

On a totally non-related "nanny" post....
it is Ben's Dad's birthday this week and on Saturday he had a really fun bbq and "beach themed" party to celebrate!  It was a great time and of course, I was nannying so the boys had the opportunity to enjoy the party too!  We played with water guns, bubbles, ate some yummy bbq, danced the night away, and (Owen's favorite part) ate the delicious cake and icecream! YAY!  I was in charge of making the bday cake this year and I have to say, I am pretty dang proud of how it turned out!  I really think it's the "coolest" thing I have ever made/baked/decorated/designed in all my crafting and baking career:)  I had so much fun making it and I think the teddy's turned out so cute!
Just a few photos I took with my phone, sorry they're not the best...but enjoy!
Happy Birthday, Daddy Davis!  We love you:)

Ps. The cutest moment happened while we were at the bbq....
I was outside playing with Miles as Owen was inside with some of the adults....all of a sudden Owen runs outside to me and whispers in my ear and bashfully says, "I was in the kitchen and THEY were talking about you!  They said that you're a keeeeeper because you brought birthday cake!" hahaha!  It was the cutest moment ever and made my whole week:)  It's good to know I have a lil' spy who will always have my back;)  It's also good to know he didn't run out and say something bad instead :D too funny!

Beach Birthday Cake!

Close up on the teddy's:)
Malibu Barbie;) haha I wish!

Happy Mother's Day!

Just wanted to dedicate a blog to all the lovely, beautiful, hard working Mother's out there! :)

Happy Mother's Day to you all!
It's not always easy being a Mommy....which is why sometimes you need a wonderful nanny, like me! ;) haha! just kidding....
Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy your adorable lil' rugrats to the fullest!
(or enjoy a nice, peaceful Mother's Day and take the day off....call your babysitter or nanny and go get a pedicure or massage! haha!)

The kiddos and I were hard at work today being super crafty....
we decided to get down and messy as we made their Mom a cute lil' tote bag with flowers made out of their sweet, tiny hand prints (thanks to my good friend, Lori and Pinterest for the fantastic idea!)  It's not quite perfect but made with love:)  Hopefully she will enjoy it on Sunday when the boys give it to her!

Everybody remember your Mommy this Sunday, May 13th!
Hugs! Miss Mandi the Nanny

I wonder, wonder, wonder....

Happy May Everybody!
We started our month out by celebrating May Day...
we made their Mom the cutest May Day basket to surprise her with after her looong day at work.  She absolutely loved it and we had a blast making it.  I have to say, it was pretty dang impressive for a 3 and 4 year old.  They truly picked everything out for it...I just kinda guided them along the way:)
Happy May Day!
Can you believe summer is almost here?  This year has already flown by and I have a feeling it's going to be Christmas before we know it *sigh*.  It's crazy!  I just finished my finals last week and I have officially completed my first semester at UMKC! YAY! :)
I really enjoy it there so much and look forward to the Fall.  I have decided not to take summer classes and just save up for next semester.  My Summer is pretty jammed packed this year so I just won't have the time....and the one class that I wanted to take is over $1,000.  Yikes!  That's a HUGE chunk of change for only a month long class.  It's silly how expensive it can be.  Maybe I'll just be a nanny forever instead;) haha!

So, I have been keeping the kiddos super busy the last few weeks and we've had so much fun!
A few weeks ago we went out to this fun lil' place called Wonderscope.  It's a great place where kids can go and use their creativity and imagination to their fullest.  The first area we went into was called "Farmers Market" where the kiddos could pick veggies out of a garden, collect eggs from the hens, and pretend-buy things from each other.  We also went into a lil' area where they could be vets and doctors...where the took care of the stuffed puppies and kitties.  SO cute!  They have a lego area and all kinds of other rooms full of mazes, arts, crafts, and so on.  We had a great time...and of course I took pictures, so enjoy! :)

Hoppy Easter...SomeBunny Loves You!

Spring is such a fun time of the year....and we have had a nice one so far!
Easter is always such a fun holiday...especially with lil' kiddos around:)  The boys are finally at the age this year where we can do all kinds of Easter projects and Easter egg hunts.  So much fun!  The Saturday before Easter I had to watch the boys and decided to do a little Easter Egg Hunt for them right in their front yard.  I stuffed tons and tons of eggs full of candy, jelly beans, and change.  Their yard was covered with colorful eggs.  Then I had an "ultimate prize" at the end for the them to open.  Inside it included 2 furry lil' lovies to add to their stuffed animal collection: a tiger named Stripes and a monkey named Bananas.  It was such a good time and I absolutely loved playing "Miss Bunny" for the kiddos;)

Eggs Eggs Every Where!
